About us

A crew of eight, and one rule

The rule: no wall goes up until we know where the water comes from.

Haskins Basement & Drainage works on the Missouri side of Kansas City. Melanie Haskins takes the first readings at every house and writes the report. The same crew that drains the basement frames it. We'd rather turn a job down than finish a basement that will be wet again.

The crew

The people at your house

These four will be your contacts from the first visit to the second reading.

  • Melanie Haskins

    Owner and estimator

Takes the first set of readings at every house and writes the moisture report herself.

  • Agustin Irizarry

    Drainage and sump lead

Runs the cutting, digging and pipe work, and tests every system with water before it's covered.

  • Kim Haugen

    Finish carpenter lead

Frames, hangs and trims the rooms once the walls are dry.

  • Ratna Tran

    Scheduler and office manager

Books the visits, watches the forecast for the dig days and answers the phone.

What we hold ourselves to

Three habits

  • Report first

Nothing is quoted until the moisture report is in your hands.

  • Test with water

Every drain system gets a hose test with you watching.

  • Come back

After the first heavy rain we read the same spots again.

Come meet the crew
